Fun Free things to do this summer...everywhere!

Are you running out of ways to keep the kids entertained this summer? Or maybe just looking for some new ways to entertain yourself and your family and or friends?  Here are a few freebies I've come up with for you to enjoy!

Please let me know if you know of a place that offers free admission, and I can add it to the list and share it with everyone!

Check out your community calendar (visit city hall or check their website).  You will most likely be very surprised at how many free events may be happening in your community.  While your checking out your community - don't forget to check out your local library, often tmes they will offer children's story times or classes (such as gardening, quilting, etc) for free!
Also, check out your communnity education catalogs.  They may be offering free classes or events forchildren and adults alike!
Lastly, check out your local newspaper as there may be free events listed in that!

Home Depot Workshops - check out your local Home Depot Store, the 1st Saturday of each month they offer a free kid's workshop! Build, Learn, Create!

There are so many wonderful organizations out there that need your time!  What a wonderful way to spend your free time, contributing your gifts to make a positive contribution to your community!
I have done some volunteer work with my 6 year old son, and what an amazing experience it was for both of us!  It was wonderful to teach him to be charitable and giving, and also for him to have the feelings of accomplishment and giving back to his community!
Again you can check with your city hall to help you find orgaizations in your area that need help or Check ot the following websites:
United Way
Humane Society
Red Cross

If you are a member of a church or religious orgaization, check out their calendar.  They may offer many fun and/or interesting events that are free.  I know our church always has something going on that is free to attend!  If you are not a member, check out churches in your local community
