Sears Father's Day Rebate and giftcard updates

Ok - remember that fabulous rebate Sears was offering for Father's Day? (spend $50.00 on men's apparel, receive $50.00 in Sears come back cash)?  Then remember we talked about getting a $50.00 Sears giftcard from CVS (they were offering $10 in ECB's wyb a $50.00 giftcard).  WELL it turned out that Sears was playing bait and switch for awhile - stating that they would NOT honor rebates purchased with gift cards!!
When I heard that I felt horrible about posting a deal like that, that the retailer was not going to honor!!  My apologies!!

Does that make ANY sense to you?  Gift cards are NOT coupons or discounts, they are like cash!!  No where in the fine print of the rebate details did it mention that gift cards were not a valid form of payment for this rebate.  When I first heard this, I was very angry.  I thought it was pretty sneaky of Sears to try to pull this - especially since they are a company barely pulling out of bankruptcy.  Wouldn't you think that a company trying to get out of bankruptcy would want the BEST customer service policies ever and treat all of their customers well??

It turns out that Sears does!  here is a response to a post on the For the Momma's blog:

Then it would be better that we can use Florida to keep cools hence they can also save energy for air conditioning.
