Purex Complete Crystals Softener is 92% natural crystals that go in at the start of the wash so they spend more time with your laundry infusing them with long-lasting freshness. You simply add Purex Complete Crystals Softener at the start of the wash cycle with your detergent — no need to wait for the rinse cycle or use messy softener balls. Also since it is added at the beginning of the wash cycle, it spends more time with your clothes, infusing them which creates long-lasting freshness.
I typiclly use a Downy ball when I do laundry, I was constantly forgetting to add my fabric softener to the rinse cycle, so I purchased a Downy ball to alleviate that problem. I was a little unsure about how the Purex was going to work, the amount of crystals you actually add to your load is minimal, and the results when your clothes come out of the dryer are impressive! My towels smell SO fresh, and still do after being put away in the cabinet and now it is a few days later! I am impressed with this product and will continue to use it!

We use Target brand dryer sheets right now, but sometimes use bounce sheets.
I use either Downy or Gain, whichever is on sale at shopping time.

I usually use store brand dryer sheets, but my son prefers I use a liquid fab softener. I usually buy what's on sale. This is definitely worth a try!
